In the dynamic world of emergency medical equipment, the demand for carrying solutions that do more than just protect is paramount. Brands like Corpuls, which are at the forefront of providing life-saving devices, require their tools to be ready for action under the toughest conditions. They turned to Shell-Case, an expert in crafting innovative carrying solutions, to develop a defibrillator carrying case that integrates perfectly with their portable defibrillator, enhancing its functionality and usability in high-pressure situations.
Corpuls needed a carrying case that could withstand the rigors of extreme environments while enhancing the operational efficiency of their portable defibrillator. The case had to meet high standards of shock resistance, disinfectant tolerance, and ergonomic design, all while improving device performance.
Shell-Case addressed this need by designing a custom hybrid case that combines ruggedness and lightweight features, enhancing the device’s emergency response capabilities. This bespoke solution integrates seamlessly with the defibrillator’s form and function, setting a new industry standard for carrying solutions.
01
To meet the extreme demands of pre-hospital emergency environments, Shell-Case developed a hybrid construction for Corpuls’ carrying case, integrating injected nylon for a rigid interface, thermoformed EVA with TPU coating for impact resistance and ease of cleaning, and textile elements for lightweight functionality.
This multi-material approach ensures the case is not only shock-absorbent and disinfectant-resistant, but also ergonomic and easy to handle in high-pressure scenarios. Unlike traditional case suppliers bound to a single process, Shell-Case’s cross-technology design method delivers the best of multiple engineering disciplines in one integrated solution.
02
In emergency care, visibility and speed matter. Shell-Case engineered a 45-degree angled foot extension that enables clear, upright display visibility for the Corpuls device—even while the unit remains in the case. This integrated feature allows medical personnel to monitor patient data at a glance, minimizing handling time and enabling quicker decision-making when every second counts. By embedding this functionality directly into the case, Shell-Case extended the usability of the device beyond transport—supporting action in the field, not just storage.
03
In the field, the focus is on patients—not devices. That’s why Shell-Case developed a dual-purpose screen shield for the Corpuls that protects the defibrillator’s display and simultaneously provides extra storage capacity. Built to withstand impact, rough handling, and disinfectants, this shield safeguards critical interface elements without slowing responders down. The additional compartment space is smartly designed to avoid interference with device access, enabling smoother workflows in time-sensitive scenarios. It’s protection and practicality—engineered into one compact feature.
04
Emergency responders carry more than just a defibrillator in their carrying case—they need quick access to electrodes, cables, and life-saving accessories. Shell-Case tackled this by designing integrated side storage pockets that maintain the case’s compact profile without obstructing device access. By placing these pockets on both sides of the screen, the Shell-Case team ensured that essential tools are always within reach, even in high-pressure situations. The result is a case that enhances readiness and speed—delivering thoughtful storage without trade-offs.
