The ZOLL Zenix™ is a professional-grade EMS defibrillator built for high-stakes field use, but a device like this is only as fast and reliable as the system carrying it. Responders needed a carrying solution that could keep the device balanced during transport, provide immediate access to accessories with minimal risk of error under pressure, and withstand repeated drops and rough handling — all without adding meaningful bulk or weight, and while supporting fast, thorough cleaning between patients and environments. A generic case, or one adapted only after the device was already finalized, couldn’t meet this bar. The case needed to be engineered around the Zenix™ from the very start.
The solution
A modular carrying system built around a symmetrical side-pouch architecture that keeps the device balanced while delivering generous storage on both sides. Color-coded pouches let responders identify contents at a glance, and the pouches unzip and open completely flat, with transparent pockets and dedicated organizers keeping cables and accessories exactly where they’re expected. A high-precision mechanical docking system holds each pouch firm through drops and rough handling, while a quick-release mechanism lets pouches detach in seconds for fast, thorough cleaning of both case and device. The case combines nylon, EVA, and TPU — for abrasion resistance, shock absorption, and flexibility — through plastic injection molding, precision sewing, and EVA thermoforming. The result is a carrying system that functions as part of the device, giving responders faster, more confident access exactly when it matters most.
